CGTC will sponsor the inaugural Carolina Godiva Raleigh Run Around, a 24 Hour race from 9am–9am on Saturday, November 21–22. This race will include two events:
Both races will run concurrently from 9am Saturday, Nov. 21 'til 9am Sunday, Nov. 22.
The virtual race will be in the same format as the Persistence Social Distance Races. All walking/running mileage accumulated during the 24 period will count toward your total distance. Sign up for the virtual race here.
The in-person track race is a no-frills event. Runners will need to bring all of their own aid (including water), a table, chair, and whatever nutrition they need for 24 hours. The track is 400M, has two heated bathrooms located just off the track, and has lights at night. Each runner is allowed one crew person. This track race is USATF sanctioned and certified, and limited to 8 runners only.
Due to the limited number of in-person spots, registration for those interested in the in-person track race will be conducted through a brief application + essay, and selected by a team of people from Meredith College and Carolina Godiva Track Club. Please note, the in-person race is not an elite event. Applications will be evaluated and entrants will be selected based on three primary criteria:
Applications will be open from now until October 15. The runners selected will be notified by October 20th and emailed a link to pay the $50 registration fee.
