This years version of the Global Warming found 44 hardies showing up to enjoy the never-ending summer of 2001. Your race committee turned down an offer from News & Observer Special Events planners to handle this years course directions and opted instead for the usual 20 lbs of flour spread by a slightly befuddled senior member of Godiva. It must have worked since there were no reports of anyone shortcutting the course. With a nice day, burgers, cheap beer, and what, I believe, is a record for this version of the course by Jim Clabuesch we should not have to fear any angry letters in the local papers. Many thanks to volunteers Barbara Hindenach, Ole Holsti, and the ever-faithful Jim Reagan.
