Congratulations
At its annual awards banquet on May 5th, Godiva Track Club recognized three members for outstanding performance and service to the club in the past year. The 2012 Male Runner of the Year is Tim Meigs, and Cathy Wides was named the Female Runner of the Year. Kevin Nickodem is this year's Volunteer of the Year.
Some of Tim's 2011 accomplishments include a 2:38:36 Boston Maraton, wins at the Beech Mountain Cool 5 (29:03) and the Grandfather Mountain Marathon (2:52:53), and a 2:37:53 Twin Cities Marathon (AG 3rd). Tim captained the course record setting CGTC Men's Masters Team at the Blue Ridge Relay. This year, Tim took 3rd in his age group at the scorching Boston Marathon (2:46:29).
In 2011, Cathy earned first place age group awards in every distance from 5K to the marathon. She ran the 2011 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon in a new Boston Qualifying time of 3:28:07. (She had 57 minutes to spare). She is also the USATF National Masters Half Champion (60–64) with a time of 1:35:25. Most recently, on May 5, 2012, she ran a 5K, placing second female overall, in 21:37.
In addition to being the go-to Master of Ceremonies for Godiva events, Kevin has served as Godiva's treasurer for many years
