Get ready to hit the dirt! On Saturday, March 6, 2027, at 9:00 AM, the Umstead Trail Marathon returns to take you deep into the lush canopy and winding paths of William B. Umstead State Park

Trade the city noise for the call of the wild. Swap the monotonous pavement for rolling forest hills, scenic bridle paths, and rewarding sections of single-track. Whether you are aiming to set a personal trail benchmark or stepping off the road for your first off-road endurance challenge, the Umstead Trail Marathon delivers an exceptional day in the woods.

• Registration Fee: $90.00 + processing fees
• Important: There will be NO race day registration.

Aid Stations & Fueling

You won't be navigating the trail alone! Our energetic volunteers and fully stocked aid stations will keep you powered from start to finish. On-course aid stations will feature:

• Water and electrolyte drink
• Energy gels
• Salty Snacks: Pretzels, chips, and salty essentials to keep cramping at bay
• Sweet Treats: Fruit, cookies, candy, and soda for a quick boost

Cupless Race Reminder: To protect the park and reduce waste, no disposable cups will be provided on course at the aid stations. Please carry a handheld bottle, soft flask, or hydration pack to refill at aid stations.

Key Rules & Information

• Custom Handmade Awards for the top 15 male and top 15 female finishers.
• Unique Finisher’s Award for every runner who completes the course.
• Time Limit: Strict 6-hour course cutoff.
• Course Safety: For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, headphones, running strollers, and pets are strictly prohibited on the course.
